While more businesses returned to work this week, there is still a large percentage that still cannot return and there is no real indication of when this will change.
During this time many organisations may need to complete their recertification training. If you are one of these companies, MasterDrive has extended the validity of their driver training certifications.
The managing director of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says if a driver in your company is required to complete their recertification between 27 March and 30 April 2020, MasterDrive is providing an extension. “All drivers that needed to complete their recertification during this time can make use of a month-long extension and complete the training between 4 and 31 May instead.
“If, however, you are still not able to resume normal activities under level four restrictions, your certification will be extended for a further period. In this instance, please contact our bookings team, to discuss the specific restrictions that apply to your business and the consequent way forward.”
While all businesses are affected by the spread of COVID-19, they are not all affected in the same way. “We understand that completing recertification while under lockdown was impossible and have provided the extension to account for this. The phased removal of lockdown restrictions, however, also means that some businesses still face a period where recertification is impossible. As such, MasterDrive wants to ensure that no companies are negatively affected by this.
“Getting South Africa back on its feet is going to need commitment and support between all individuals and entities in the country. As the transport sector is the backbone on which the restoration of the economy rests, MasterDrive is here to ensure that your drivers return to the roads safely and as soon as possible,” says Herbert.
If you need to make use of the extension, please contact MasterDrive by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 086 110 0618 during the month of May.
